Aims and Scope

Lignin Research is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing fundamental understanding, technological innovation, and industrial applications of lignin. The journal provides an international, multidisciplinary platform for disseminating high-quality research and fostering collaboration across chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, energy, and environmental disciplines. It aims to promote the efficient and sustainable utilization of lignin and biomass resources, supporting the transition toward carbon neutrality and a bio-based economy.

The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, perspectives, commentaries, and communications on lignin-related topics, covering key areas including but not limited to:

(1) Multiscale structural studies of lignin

(2) Lignin-derived fine chemicals

(3) Lignin-based carbon materials

(4) Lignin-based polymeric materials

(5) Catalytic conversion of lignin

(6) High-value utilization of lignocellulosic components

(7) Biomass valorization

Mission

Lignin Research serves as a multidisciplinary academic platform for researchers, engineers, and scholars dedicated to lignin and biomass utilization. It welcomes original investigations addressing the key scientific and technological challenges in lignin valorization, including structure–property relationships, selective depolymerization strategies, rational catalyst design, functional material fabrication, process integration, and industrial feasibility, with the aim of advancing the high-value utilization of lignin resources.
